Clean carpeting will improve your air quality

The importance of cleaning carpets is often misunderstood.
It’s often a stain or spill that triggers the call for a carpet to be cleaned. Don’t be fooled.
A stain is one of the smaller reasons to have your carpet cleaned.

Carpets have a reputation for harbouring allergens, and generally causing air contaminants.
This can be true,
but..
if they are properly maintained, they will work for you instead of against you.

When we clean anything, there are two processes required to get it clean.
The first is to loosen the dirt from whatever its attached to, the second is to remove the loosened dirt.

Cleaning solutions are used to loosen the dirt.
Then, the dirt is suspended in the cleaning solution.
If we leave the solution on the surface, the dirt remains also, and reattaches to the surface.
This is most obvious on surfaces like glass or mirrors.
Streaks on a glass surface is simply dirt that has been loosened and moved around, but not removed.
It happens in your carpets also, it's just not as obvious.
The more water you leave in the carpet, the more dirt is left behind also.
It’s important to have strong enough equipment to remove as much water as possible.
Powerful extractors leave carpets dryer, removing more of the soils.
